Doylestown, PA (January 7, 2017) - The DeSales University women's basketball team jumped out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back in a 73-45 win over Delaware Valley University in MAC Freedom action on a snowy Saturday afternoon.

Leandra Sterner led the Bulldogs (10-2, 2-0 MAC Freedom) with 12 points, seniorÂ
Nicole Umbenhauer added a season-high 11 points, and seniorÂ
Morgan McCollian finished with 10 points and four blocks in a balanced scoring attack.  SophomoreÂ
Morgan Birmelin had six points, six rebounds, and six assists in the win and sophomoreÂ
Katie Miller had five assists and five steals.
Delaware Valley (5-8, 1-1 MAC Freedom) got a game-high 28 points fromÂ
Danielle Skedzielwski in the loss.
DeSales controlled the outcome for the very start scoring the first 13 points of the game and holding a 22-3 lead and the Aggies without a field goal after one quarter of play. Â The Bulldogs led 37-18 at the halftime break.
An 8-1 run out of the halftime locker room pushed the lead up to 26 points (45-19) and DSU cruised the rest of the way.
The Bulldogs shot 40.8 percent for the game and held the Aggies to just 22.0 percent shooting. Â DSU out-rebounded DVU, 51-43, and forced 23 Del. Val. turnovers in the win.
DeSales returns to action on Wednesday when they host Manhattanville College in another MAC Freedom game set to begin at 6:00 pm in Billera Hall.
