Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 21, 2017) - The DeSales University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at King's College on Saturday afternoon in MAC Freedom action.
The loss means DeSales (9-6, 4-2 MAC Freedom) will need either a win or a tie (at Eastern University) or a King's College loss or tie (at FDU-Florham) next Saturday to qualify for the MAC Freedom postseason tournament. Â Any one of those four scenarios will put DeSales into the postseason tournament.
King's scored the game's only goal just 5:16 into the game when Andrea Galvin connected from about 25 yards out just under the cross bar.
DeSales had several chances to find the equalizer but were never able including missing a PK with just over seven minutes left in the game. Â The Bulldogs had an 11-3 advantage in shots, while Monarchs had a small 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Elizabethtown College for a non-conference game set to begin at 7:00 pm.
