Volleyball Clinches Perfect Regular Season with 3-0 Win over King's

Center Valley, PA (October 25, 2017) - The DeSales University volleyball team wrapped a perfect MAC Freedom regular season sweeping King's College, 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-21) in the final conference match of the season on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

DeSales (20-8, 7-0 MAC Freedom) will open the MAC Freedom postseason tournament next week as the #1 seed and will have a rematch with these same Monarchs (18-10, 4-3 MAC Freedom) after King's earned the fourth seed in the postseason.  Eastern University will be the #2 seed and FDU-Florham will be the #3 seed.  The tournament opens on Wednesday, November 1st as the Bulldogs will host King's in Billera Hall at 7:00 pm that night.

The win also gives DSU its fourth straight 20+ win season and the eighth in 13 years under head coach Michele Zabinski.

The first set on Wednesday was a battle featuring 10 ties and three lead changes before DSU rallied late to take control, 25-19.  There were only 5 ties and one lead change over the final two sets as the Bulldogs hit .248 for the match and totaled 61 digs for the match.

Leading the way was junior Gabby Savite` (Hackettstown, NJ) with her team leading 19th double-double of the year with 17 kills and 12 digs.  She added three blocks and hit .438 for the match.  Freshman Noel Kelly (Saylorsburg, PA) added 14 kills and hit .375 and sophomore Morghan Shoemaker (Allentown, PA) finished with eight kills and three blocks.

Freshman Julia Bradford (Mertztown, PA) handed out 43 assists and junior Natalie Gray (Aston, PA) finished with a match-high 20 digs.

The Bulldogs finish up the regular season on Saturday traveling to Neumann University for a tri-math with Stockton University.
