Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision at Eastern; #3 Seed in MAC Freedom Tournament

St. David's, PA (October 28, 2017) - The DeSales University men's soccer team lost for the first time in 17 games falling at Eastern University, 1-0, in MAC Freedom action to drop down to the #3 seed in next week's MAC Freedom postseason tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (12-2-4, 4-1-2 MAC Freedom) suffered its first loss since the first game of the season at PSU-Behrend.  DSU needed a win or a tie to clinch the top seed and home field advantage in next week's postseason tournament.  DeSales is now the #3 seed and will travel to the #2 seed King's College for the semifinal matchup on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.

Eastern scored the eventual game-winner in the 39th minute just before halftime when Cade Harmon bent in a pass from Colin Furlong from the edge of the box.

DeSales had a slight 15-14 advantage in shots for the game, while the Eagles (12-4-1, 5-2 MAC Freedom) had a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior Dan Sulpizio (Philadelphia, PA) made four saves in the loss.
