Center Valley, PA (October 3, 2017) - Five different players scored leading the DeSales University field hockey team past Drew University, 5-0, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.
The Bulldogs (8-3) opened the scoring just 1:27 into the game when sophomore
Madison Brader (Coopersburg, PA) scored when her shot deflected off a defenders stick into the goal. Â Sophomore
Kylie Honnick-Payne (Johnson City, NY) earned the assist on the play.
Junior
Chelsea DeFrancisco (Bethlehem, PA) made it 2-0 in the 18th minute, converting a penalty stroke for her third goal of the season and Honnick-Payne put her 11th goal of the season in the cage, firing in the rebound of a saved shot at 26:53 to post the halftime margin.
Sophomore
Christie Hansen (San Diego, CA) got into the scoring act in the second half scoring off a centering pass from Honnick-Payne and sophomore
Andrea Baldus (Hatboro, PA) posted the 5-0 final margin with her first goal of the season off an assist from DeFrancisco.
The Bulldogs (8-3) dominated play out-shooting Drew (0-9) 30-1 for the game and holding a 13-3 edge in penalty corners.
DeSales is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Wilkes University for another MAC Freedom game beginning at 5:00 pm.
