Center Valley, PA (February 18, 2017) - The DeSales University men's basketball dropped its regular season finale, 76-67, to Delaware Valley University falling to the #4 seed in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament on Saturday afternoon in MAC Freedom action in Billera Hall.
The Bulldogs (17-8, 9-5 MAC Freedom) finish tied for third place with Misericordia University but lose the tiebreaker and will be the #4 seed setting up a rematch with the Aggies (16-9, 11-3 MAC Freedom) who earned the top seed having tied for first place with Eastern University who will be the second seed and host the Cougars in the other semifinal. The two Wednesday winners will advance to the MAC Freedom title game next Saturday at the highest remaining seed. Â Wednesday's game time at Delaware Valley is set for 7:00 pm.

Delaware Valley took control from the very start on Saturday as DeSales never led in the game as the Aggies opened up a 6-0 lead. Â The lead swayed between eight and 10 points mid-way thru the half before DVU used a 6-0 run to take a 36-22 advantage and led by 12 (40-28) at the break.
The first ten minutes of the second-half was back-and-forth as the Bulldogs were unable to cut into the lead and still trailed by double digits (52-41) at the 10:05 mark when they started to chip away.
Five straight points from Simsick and two free throws from juniorÂ
Steven Ciotti cut the margin down to five points (53-48) and a Jones three after a jumper from the Aggies made it a four-point game (55-51) with 8:10 to go.
It was still a four-point game at the 4:52 mark when Kimbrough took over scoring six straight points, four from the free throw line, to push the advantage back up to 10 points with 3:15 left to play and DeSales was unable to recover.
Delaware Valley torched the nets all afternoon shooting 56.3 percent as compared to just 36.2 percent shooting for the Bulldogs, its worst percentage of the season. Â DSU did a good job protecting the ball committing just 11 turnovers and saw its bench out-score the Aggies, 41-4, for the game.
