Fayetteville, NC (February 19, 2017) - The DeSales University baseball team scored five runs in the eighth inning erasing a 4-3 deficit en route to an 8-4 win over the University of Mary Washington on Sunday afternoon.
After falling behind 1-0 in the third inning, DSU (1-2) scored once in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to take a 3-1 lead. Â SeniorÂ

Tommy Epsaro each had RBI hits in consecutive innings.
UMW (1-2) plated three unearned runs in the top of the seventh inning to reclaim a one-run lead (4-3).
After stranding two two-out base runners in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bulldogs rallied in the eighth.
Epsaro led off the frame with a base hit and seniorÂ
Richie Lancashire singled with one out scoring Epsaro.  Two batters later sophomoreÂ
Preston Amato doubled home both Lancashire and seniorÂ
Danny Licamara and DeSales then drew four straight walks to take an 8-4 lead and never looked back from there.

Adam Donovan pitched very well despite earning a no-decision allowing just one run over six innings scattering seven hits and striking out seven.  SophomoreÂ
Felix Martinez Jr. earned the win pitching three innings of strong relief allowing three unearned runs and scattering six hits.
Epsaro finished the game 3-for-5 with two runs scored, Licamara and fellow seniorÂ
Tyler Sweeney each had two hits, while Hart knocked in two runs and Amato scored twice in the win.
