Center Valley, PA (February 21, 2017) – The DeSales University men's basketball team will open the MAC Freedom Tournament on Wednesday evening getting a rematch with top seed Delaware Valley University four days after its regular season finale loss to the Aggies.
The Bulldogs (17-8, 9-5 MAC Freedom) enter the postseason tied for third place in the MAC Freedom standings with Misericordia University and as the #4 seed, while the Aggies finished tied for first with Eastern University but won the tiebreaker earning the top seed.
Game time is set for 7:00 pm and admission for the event will be $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens, and $2.00 for students w/ID. All children under the age of six are FREE.

DeSales/Delaware Valley History:
DeSales owns a 40-22 lead in the all-time series between the two teams. The season series was split with the road team winning each time including a DeSales win on Jan. 7
th (84-72) and a Delaware Valley win on February 18
th (76-67). It will be the fourth career meeting in the postseason with DVU winning the first three, two in James Work Gymnasium. DSU is 15-15 all-time on the road at Delaware Valley.
Regular Season Series
Game One at Delaware Valley (DSU – 84-72)
The Bulldogs finished the game on a 24-12 run breaking a tie at 60 with six minutes left to take the first meeting. DSU had a 60-49 lead before an 11-0 Aggie run tied the game setting up the game-ending run. Senior

Connor Jones added 14 points, senior
Kuity Slanger totaled 13 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, senior
Brian Laird had 12 points, and senior
Ryan Callahan and freshman
Tracy Simsick also reached double digits with 11 points.
Game Two at DeSales (DVU – 76-67)
DeSales had its worst shooting game of the season hitting just 36.2 percent from the field and the Aggies converted 56.3 percent from the field in the win. DSU did pull within four points twice and for the last time at the 4:52 mark but six straight points from DVU ended the threat. Simsick scored a season-high 18 points in the loss, Jones added 15 points, and Callahan and Slanger each had 12 points.

The Bulldogs are making their 15
th appearance in the MAC Freedom Tournament and its fifth straight. DeSales has won three MAC Freedom Championships with the last coming in 2014. DSU has a 12-11 all-time record in the MAC Freedom postseason.
