Wilkes-Barre, PA (February 8, 2017) – The DeSales University women's basketball used a 16-0 run to end the first quarter en route to a 75-35 win over Wilkes University in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening in the Marts Center.

Morgan McCollian with a game-high 12 points each. McCollian added eight boards. Sophomore
Bridget Walsh had her first career double-double with 11 points, a career-high 11 rebounds, and six blocks, while sophomore
Morgan Birmelin also reached double figures with 10 points.
After DSU (17-5, 9-2 MAC Freedom) scored the first six points of the game, Wilkes (5-17, 0-11 MAC Freedom) scored seven straight to lead 7-6, but the Bulldogs answered scoring the last 16 points of the first quarter and totaled a 20-0 run including the start of the second quarter taking a 47-14 lead at the half and never looked back from there.
The Bulldogs finished the game shooting 42.4 percent from the field and held Wilkes to just 18.4 percent shooting. DSU forced 27 Colonel turnovers and committed just 11, while also dominating the glass out-rebounding WU, 48-33, for the game. The win is also the 40
th straight for the Bulldogs over the Colonels in the all-time series.

DeSales returns to action on Saturday when they travel back to Wilkes-Barre, PA to take on King's College in MAC Freedom action beginning at 1:00 pm.
