Salisbury, MD (March 19, 2017) - Senior
Andrew Schuler tossed a complete-game allowing just seven hits and three runs leading the DeSales University baseball team to a 5-3 win over Salisbury University on Sunday afternoon.
Schuler was masterful allowing just three runs over nine innings of work to earn his first win of the season. He scattered seven hits (all singles) and walked just two, striking out four in the win.
The Bulldogs (4-7) got Schuler three early runs scoring once in the second on a solo home run from sophomore
Tommy Epsaro and twice in the third on a two-RBI triple from senior
Tommy DePaul.
After SU (13-6) got two runs back in the sixth DSU scored once in the seventh on an RBI single from sophomore
Preston Amato and once in the ninth on RBI groundout from junior
Hunter Hart.
Senior
Danny Licamara was the only Bulldog with multiple hits (2), while senior
Richie Lancashire scored twice.
Schuler earns
TW Cooper Insurance Player of the Game honors.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action on Friday traveling to Wilkes University for the MAC Freedom opener but will need a lot of snow to melt to make that happen. Stay tuned to the DSU schedule all week for changes and new dates on a lot of postponed games.
