Center Valley, PA (March 23, 2017) - Freshman
Katie Kingsland scored six goals leading the DeSales Univeristy women's lacrosse team past Cedar Crest College, 16-2, in non-conference action on Thursday evening in the first-ever game under the lights.
The Bulldogs (3-5) scored the first eight goals of the game and led 10-1 at the half cruising to the 14-goal win. DSU out-shot CCC (0-2) 43-6 and had a 30-13 advantage in ground balls. The Bulldogs also won 15-of-19 draw controls and forced 23 Falcon turnovers.
Kingsland led the attack with six goals and had four ground balls. Junior
Danielle Burke finished with three goals and two assists, junior
Kelly Meade and sophomore
Sydney Kane each had two goals, and junior
Maggie Zaleski, sophomore
Amanda Foley, and freshman
Mary O'Malley all scored once. Junior
Sydney Mursko had two assists and freshman
Alyssa Mantzouranis had one helper in the win.
Mursko led the charge with five ground balls, while Burke and O'Malley each had four. Meade the way with four draw controls and freshman
Lori King made two saves.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday when they travel to local rival Moravian College beginning at 1:00 pm.
