Swarthmore, PA (March 30, 2017) - Swarthmore College scored four times in the first inning and the DeSales University baseball didn't get a base-runner till the fifth inning falling to the Garnet, 6-2, in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon.
SC (7-13) scored four times in the first inning, two of which were unearned, on four hits including two doubles. Â Swarthmore put two runners on base in the second inning before freshmanÂ
Ryan Passaro got out of the jam with a line drive double play.
The Garnet added two more runs in the fourth inning on three singles and a hit by pitch to take a 6-0 lead.
DSU went in order in each of the first four innings before finally threatening in the fifth with three straight singles before a double play ended the threat. Â The Bulldogs went in order again in the sixth and eighth innings and finally broke thru in the ninth taking advantage of an SC error to score two unearned runs on an RBI double from juniorÂ

Jack Moore took the loss allowing four runs (two earned) over 1 1/3 innings pitched.  Lancashire had two of DSU's six hits.
The Bulldogs are now back in action on Saturday when they host FDU-Florham in the first of three games this weekend at 3:30 pm at Butz Field.
