Kissimmee, FL (March 5, 2017) - Junior
Hailey Warner tossed a no-hitter allowing just three baserunners in game one leading the DeSales University to a split of two games on day one of the Bulldogs' spring trip to Kissimmee, FL.
Game One (W/1-0 vs. Simpson College)
Warner was outstanding allowing just three walks and only two runners to get into scoring position in earning her first win of the season. She struck out eight and retired the side in order five times, retiring 14 in a row at one point.
DSU (1-3) got the only run it needed in the first inning when junior
Haley Frati tripled with one out and sophomore
Madeleine Nasir singled her home one batter later. The Bulldogs had seven hits including two from Nasir and fellow junior
Andrea Artesani.
Game Two (L/3-9 vs. Coe College)
The 16th ranked team in the country scored once in the first, twice in the second and third, and four more times in the sixth to take a 9-0 lead before the Bulldogs scored three times in the bottom of the sixth inning on a two-out bases clearing triple from senior
Alexa Beaumont to provide the final tally.
DSU made five errors in the loss, leading to four unearned runs.
Freshman
Shannon Hill took the loss allowing three earned runs over two innings of work. Artesani pitched well allowing just two hits over three innings in the circle.
The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow as they take on Bridgewater College and Lakeland University.
