Winter Haven, FL (March 7, 2017) - Eastern Mennonite took a 4-2 lead early and the DeSales University baseball was unable to climb back falling for the fourth straight time, 5-3, on Tuesday afternoon.
EMU (8-5) took a 1-0 lead after two innings but the Bulldogs (1-6) responded with two runs in the top of the third inning on RBI singles from seniorÂ
Tommy DePaul and a sacrifice fly from fellow seniorÂ
Mike Kacergis to take a 2-1 lead.
Eastern Mennonite reclaimed the lead in the bottom half of the inning scoring three unearned runs on a two-out bases clearing double.
The Bulldogs got within one run (4-3) on an RBI single from seniorÂ
Jesse Smoot in the top of the sixth inning but EMU tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth and DSU stranded the bases loaded in the eighth and a two-out base-runner in the ninth.

Ryan Passaro took the loss allowing seven hits and four runs (one earned) over three innings of work.  SeniorÂ
Tyler Sweeney led the offensive attack with three of DSU's nine hits.  The Bulldogs did steal six bases in the loss.
DeSales will look to get back on the winning track tomorrow when they take on PSU-Abington beginning at 9:30 am.
