Gwynedd-Valley, PA (March 8, 2017) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team seven of the last eight goals erasing a 9-8 deficit to record the program's first-ever win, 15-10, over Gwynedd-Mercy University on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (1-3) started the game strong scoring five of the first six goals to take a 5-1 lead but the Griffins (0-3) caught fire and finished the half with six of the last eight tallies to tie the score at seven on a goal with just 55 seconds left.
GMU scored two of the first three goals to start the second-half and led by one for nearly seven minutes before sophomoreÂ
Sydney Kane scored unassisted twice in a span of 1:25 to give DSU a one-goal lead it would never relinquish.
The Bulldogs finished the game with seven of the last eight goals to win their first-ever game in the program's first year as a varsity sport.

Danielle Burke led the scoring charge with three goals and three assists and juniorÂ
Kelly Meade finished with four goals and an assist in the win.  JuniorÂ
Sydney Mursko had one goal and three assists, Kane finished with three goals, and freshmanÂ
Katie Kingsland had two goals and an assist.  JuniorÂ
Maggie Zaleski rounded out the scoring with two goals.
Made, Kane, and Burke also led the team with four draw controls, Mursko picked up a team-high five ground balls, and sophomoreÂ
Lori King made five saves in goal.
DSU will look to make it two wins in a row on Saturday when they travel to Rutgers-Camden beginning at 1:00 pm.
