Auburndale, FL (March 9, 2017) - The DeSales University baseball won its second straight game riding a strong start to a 13-8 win over Mount Union College on Thursday evening.
The Bulldogs (3-6) scored in each of the first five innings, including four runs in the second and fifth innings.
DSU opened the scoring with two unearned runs in the first inning taking advantage of two walks and two Mt. Union errors.  Junior 
Conner Lafferty had an RBI single in the second inning that was followed by a two-run triple from seniot 
Tyler Sweeney.
Sophomore 
Nick White had a two-RBI single in the fourth inning and seniors 
Mike Kacergis and 
Danny Licamara each had two RBI hits in the fifth inning.
Mount Union scored three times in the first inning to briefly lead 3-2 and had two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to pull within 13-8 before seniors 
Tyler Cooperman and 
Cameron Hoos shut the door alloing just two base runners over the final two innings.
Kacergis, Licamara, and Lafferty each had two hits, while Licamara, White, Sweeney, and Kacergis all had two RBIs in the win.
Sophomore 
Felix Martinez Jr. earned the win pitching 5 1/3 strong innings allowing five hits and striking out three.  Hoos struck out the side in the ninth.
