Kissimmee, FL (March 9, 2017) - The DeSales University softball team finished its spring trip splitting two games for the fourth straight time during the trip falling to Thomas More College, 8-2, and defeating PSU-Altoona, 4-2, on Thursday morning.
Game One (L/2-8 vs. Thomas More)
After TMC took a 1-0 lead in the first inning DSU (4-6) tied it on an RBI double from juniorÂ
Haley Frati in the bottom half.  Thomas More regained the lead with a run in the second inning and took a 4-1 lead in the fourth.  DSU got within 4-2 in the fifth on an RBI single from sophomoreÂ
Madeleine Nasir but Thomas More got three runs in the sixth and another in the seventh to post the final tally.
JuniorÂ
Hailey Warner took the loss allowing three earned runs over four innings of work, striking out four.  FreshmanÂ
Erin Redden had two hits to lead an eight hit attack.
Game Two (W/4-2 vs. PSU-Altoona)
DSU took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly from sophomoreÂ
Leann Panconi and made it a 2-0 game in the third when Redden hit an inside the park home run to left field.
Altoona got one run back in the bottom of the third before the Bulldogs took a 4-1 lead in the fourth when juniorÂ
Andrea Artesani laced a two-out, two-RBI double giving DeSales a lead it would not relinquish.
Artesani won her second game of the season lasting five innings scattering 10 hits and allowing one earned run. Â Warner pitched the final two innings, striking out three for her first save of the season.
Redden had two more hits and seniorÂ
Alexa Beaumont scored twice in the win.
The Bulldogs are sceduled to return to action on March 18th when they host Delaware Valley University in the first MAC Freedom games of the season beginning at 1:00 pm.
