Dallas, PA (April 18, 2017) - The DeSales University women's tennis clinched a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament, extending its winning streak to 15 straight games, in an 8-1 win at Misercordia University on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (15-1, 4-0 MAC Freedom) are now just one win away from also clinching a home playoff match. Â DSU has won a program-best 15 straight games and have now also surpassed the previous best win total for an entire season by two wins, eclipsing the previous mark of 13 wins by the 2006 team. Â The playoff berth is the first since the 2008-09 season, its last season before the sport was dropped as a varsity sport and reinstated this season.
DeSales earned its 15th straight win in near dominating fashion. Â DSU won all three doubles matches as freshmanÂ

Kelsey Kazlauskas earned an 8-6 win in the No. 3 position.
Nguyen earned a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win in the No. 1 singles spot and Achenbach was a 6-1, 6-0 winner in the No. 3 spot. Â SeniorÂ
Shannon O'Malley continued her incredible season winning her 10th straight to improve to 16-1 on the season with an 6-4, 7-5 win in the No. 4 spot.  Tucker was an 8-0 winner in the No. 5 hole and Shan won, 8-1, in the No. 6 spot.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they host Eastern University in another MAC Freedom match beginning at 1:00 pm.
