Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 19, 2017) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team finished the first-half with eight straight goals erasing a 3-1 deficit to take a 9-3 lead and never looked back in the second-half earning its first-ever MAC Freedom win, 14-7, over Wilkes University on Wednesday afternoon.
After Wilkes (4-7, 0-4 MAC Freedom) took a 3-1 lead early the Bulldogs took complete control as sophomoreÂ
Sydney Kane started a string of eight straight goals to end the half giving DSU a comfortable 9-3 cushion at the break.  DSU scored four of the first six goals in the second-half all but icing the win.

Amanda Foley, juniorÂ
Kelly Meade, juniorÂ
Danielle Burke, freshmanÂ
Alyssa Mantzouranis, and freshmanÂ

Sydney Mursko added one goal and two assists and juniorÂ
Maggie Zaleski had one goal.  Burke, Meade, and Kane also had assists.
Meade and Burke each had three caused turnovers and led the team with six ground balls, while Burke and Kane had a team-high four ground balls. Â SophomoreÂ
Lori King made seven saves in between the pipes.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Delaware Valley University for another MAC Freedom match-up beginning at 1:00 pm.
