Doylestown, PA (April 22, 2017) - Sophomore
Sydney Kane scored three goals but the DeSales University women's lacrosse team fell behind early and were unable to complete a comeback falling at Delaware Valley University, 12-5, in MAC Freedom action on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
DSU (5-10, 1-4 MAC Freedom) fell behind early as the Aggies (8-4, 2-3 MAC Freedom) scored the first six goals of the game before the Bulldogs answered with three straight to end the half and start the second half pulling within 8-4 with just over 25 minutes left. Del. Val., however, countered with four straight goals ending DeSales' comeback threat.
Kane finished with three of DSU's five goals, while junior
Danielle Burke and freshman
Katarina Polyviou also scored. Junior
Kelly Meade had a team-high three draw controls and joined junior
Sydney Mursko and Polyviou with a team-high five ground balls.
Sophomore
Lori King made 13 saves in between the pipes.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they host King's College in another MAC Freedom game set to begin at 5:00 pm.
