Konner Schneider pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings leading the DeSales University baseball team past Manhattanville College, 10-3, in the first of three games this weekend on Friday afternoon.

After taking a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a two-out, two-RBI single from freshman
Sergio Diaz, MVC (13-16, 6-7 MAC Freedom) took a 3-2 lead with two runs of its own in the bottom of the first inning and another in the second.
The score remained 3-2 entering the fifth when the Bulldogs took control scoring four times on a two-RBI triple from senior
Tyler Sweeney and RBI singles from sophomore
Nick White and junior
Hunter Hart.
DSU added three more tallies in the seventh on an RBI double from Kacergis and a two RBI single from junior
Conner Lafferty, taking a 9-3 lead and scored once more in the ninth on a sacrifice fly from Sweeney.
Schneider did the rest, relieving junior starter
Adam Donovan in the fifth inning and pitching 4 1/3 scoreless allowing just three hits and striking out one to earn his second win of the season.
Kacergis finished 4-for-5 to earn
TW Cooper Insurance Player of the Game honors, Hart had two hits and two runs scored, Lafferty and Diaz each had two hits and knocked in two, and Sweeney finished with three RBIs in his first game in a few weeks returning from injury.
The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow afternoon hosting these same Valiants in a MAC Freedom doubleheader at Butz Field beginning at 1:00 pm.
