Women's Lacrosse Drops First-Ever MAC Freedom Game at FDU-Florham

Madison, NJ (April 5, 2017) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team dropped its first-ever MAC Freedom game to the two-time defending champion FDU-Florham Devils, 17-2, on Wednesday afternoon.

The Devils (7-3, 1-0 MAC Freedom) have won back-to-back titles and four of the last four MAC Freedom championships.  FDU scored the first 13 goals of the game to take a 13-0 lead at the half before the Bulldogs (4-7, 0-1 MAC Freedom) battled in the second-half to score two of the first three goals in the half.

Both DeSales goals came from junior Kelly Meade with assists from freshman Alyssa Mantzouranis and junior Sydney Mursko.  Meade, Mursko, and sophomore Sydney Kane each won two draw controls and freshman Katie Kingsland had a team-high two ground balls.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they host Eastern University in another MAC Freedom game set to begin at 1:00 pm.
