Gabby Savite` (Hackettstown, NJ) and freshman
Noel Kelly (Saylorsburg, PA) combined for 32 kills and just five errors leading the DeSales University volleyball team past FDU-Florham, 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-14), in the MAC Freedom opener for both teams on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.
DSU hit .268 for the match led by Savite` with 17 kills and a .424 hitting percentage and Kelly who hit .464 with 15 kills. Â Savite` became the eighth player in team history with 1,000 career kills and after recording her 1,000th dig last week is now one of just four players in team history with 1,000 kills and digs in a career.
Sophomore
Morghan Shoemaker (Allentown, PA) added 8 kills and five blocks, while hitting .333 and freshman
Julia Bradford (Mertztown, PA) had 39 assists and three aces in the win. Â Defensively, Savite` added 11 digs and junior
Natalie Gray (Aston, PA) finished with a match-high 17 digs. Â Senior
Jessica Ament (Camden, DE) also played well with nine digs.
DSU returns to action next Tuesday when they host Delaware Valley University in a MAC Freedom match set to begin at 7:00 pm.
