Center Valley, PA (September 16, 2017) - Sophomore Christie Hansen (San Diego, CA) scored her second goal of the season with just over 13 minutes left to play lifting the DeSales University field hockey team past William Paterson University, 2-1, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

DSU (4-1) took a 1-0 lead in the first-half when junior Chelsea DeFrancisco (Bethlehem, PA) scored her second goal of the season off an assist from freshman Becky Barley (Slatington, PA) tipping in a shot on the post off a corner play at 17:03.

Paterson (2-4) tied the game at one just 3:02 into the second half before Hansen got the game-winner at 56:59 when she scored off an assist from sophomore Madison Brader (Coopersburg, PA).

The Bulldogs had a 15-6 advantage in shots and a healthy 17-2 advantage in corners in the win.  Sophomore Katarina Polyviou (Cranford, NJ) made four saves in the cage.

DeSales is back in action on Tuesday when they host Kean University beginning at 6:00 pm.
