Late Goal Spoils Women's Soccer Comeback in 3-2 Loss at Lebanon Valley

Annville, PA (September 20, 2017) - The DeSales University women's soccer team erased a two-goal deficit tying the game early in the second-half but a late spoiled the comeback attempt lifting Lebanon Valley College past the Bulldogs, 3-2, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

LVC (3-1-2) took a 2-0 lead with goals in the fifth and 23rd minute.  DeSales (4-3) needed just 1:24 to start its comeback getting its first goal from sophomore Sydney Amato at 24:01 off assists from senior Angelica Bertola and junior Erin Crystal as the Bulldogs trailed by one at the halftime break.

Bertola scored the equalizer 16:58 into the second half on an assist from freshman Rachel Medlar.

The game seemed destined for overtime before LVC's Meghan Ross scored her second goal of the game with just 5:13 left to play and the Bulldogs were unable to find a second equalizer.

LVC had a 19-10 edge in shots and a slim 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.  Junior Haley Jacobs made seven saves in goal for the Bulldogs.

DeSales is back in action on Saturday when they host Stevenson University beginning at 1:00 pm.
