Reading, PA (September 27, 2017) - The DeSales University men's soccer team earned its eighth straight win and its fifth straight in shutout form blanking Albright College, 3-0, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (8-1) have now allowed just one goal during this eight-game win streak, recording seven shutouts and five straight. Â DSU has allowed just four goals all season. Â The shutout streak is now up to 479:52. Â Senior
Dan Sulpizio (Philadelphia, PA) made six saves and pushed his season goals against average down to 0.44.
Sophomore
Javaughn Hussett (Whitehall, PA) got the scoring started just 3:19 into the game scoring his second goal of the year off an assist from junior
Zach Reichard (Bethlehem, PA). Â The one goal lead stood into the half.
Just under six minutes into the second-half DSU was awarded a PK, but
Justin Habick (Effort, PA) hit the post on the attempt. Â On the ensuing rebound DeSales was awarded a second PK after a hand ball in the box and this time junior
Michael Kirby (Bensalem, PA) scored giving DSU a 2-0 lead.
Junior
Max Cortina (Pittstown, NJ) then put the exclamation point on the win, scoring unassisted for his first tally of the year at 61:59.
DeSales enjoyed a 15-7 edge in shots, while AC (1-8-1) had a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Bulldogs now look towards MAC Freedom play where they will host FDU-Florham on homecoming Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:30 pm.
