Women's Soccer Wins Fourth Straight; Clinches MAC Freedom Postseason Spot in 4-1 Win over Eastern

Center Valley, PA (October 20, 2018) - Freshman Natalie Dorsheimer scored twice and the DeSales University women's soccer team netted four goals in the second-half in a 4-1 win over Eastern University in MAC Freedom action to clinch a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament in two weeks.

  • Notes: The win secures a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason for the Bulldogs who will clinch the #3 seed with either a win next vs. Delaware Valley University or an FDU-Florham loss tonight at Misericordia.
How it Happened
  • After a scoreless first-half, Dorsheimer broke the tie with two goals in a span of 4:20 to give DSU a 2-0 lead.  Both were assisted by sophomore Rachel Medlar.
  • The Bulldogs added two more goals to increase its lead to four goals before Eastern capped off the scoring with a goal in the 89th minute.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Dorsheimer's two tallies give her a team-leading six goals on the year, while Medlar now has a team-high six assists.
  • Sophomore Anja Wilson scored DSU's third goal, her first of the season and second of her career with junior Jess Amick recording the assist, the second of her career.
  • Freshman Vanessa Atie scored the Bulldogs final goal, the first of her career.
  • Senior Haley Jacobs had one save in the win.
For the Foes
  • Adrianna Rowlands made six saves for the Eagles.
  • Katerina Mouzakitis scored EU's goal and Zoe Glavin had an assist.

  • DeSales had a 19-4 advantage in shots and a 10-2 edge in shots on goal.
