Savite' Breaks Kills Record; Volleyball Claims Perfect Regular Season in Win over King's

Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 24, 2018) - Senior Gabby Savite` becames the all-time leader in kills and the DeSales University volleyball claimed its second straight perfect MAC Freedom regular season with a 3-0 win over King's College on Wednesday evening.

  • Savite' now has 1,631 career kills, all alone in first place all-time, and breaking Hall of Famer Christa Hannis' record that had stood since the 1996 season.
  • DSU clinches the MAC Freedom Regular Season Title which gives the Bulldogs the #1 seed in next week's MAC Freedom postseason tournament.
  • DeSales will host the #4 seed, FDU-Florham, in the semifinals with match time set for 7:00 pm.

  • Savite` finished with 14 kills, hit .424, and added nine digs.
  • Junior Morghan Shoemaker totaled 14 kills, hit .600, and had five blocks.
  • Sophomore Noel Kelly added 10 kills and hit .375.
  • Freshman Audrey Wolfe finished with 40 assists and seven digs.
  • Senior Natalie Gray led the defense with 12 digs.

  • Rachel Miller had a team-high 12 kills and hit .116.
