Salisbury, MD (November 17, 2018) - The DeSales University men's basketball team used a 18-1 run over the span of 4:47 pulling away from Lancaster Bible College, 80-68, in the consolation game of the Salisbury Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- Neither team led by more than five points in the first half as LBC closed the half on a 9-4 run to take a 34-32 lead into the locker room.
- DeSales went up five (46-41) early in the second-half before a 16-5 Charger run gave LBC a 57-51 lead, its largest of the game, at the 10:02 mark of the second half.
- Junior Ben Pratt hit two free throws at 8:57 quietly starting its 18-1 game-clinching spurt to put the game away.
- Sophomore Matt Kachelries led the spurt with six points as four different Bulldogs scored, including senior Luke Connaghan with five points.
- Leading by 11 (69-58) with 4:10 to go, Lancaster Bible never got any closer than eight the rest of way as DeSales closed the game hitting 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Top Bulldog Performers
- All five starters were in double digits led by Connaghan with a team-high 18 tallies. He added seven rebounds and four assists.
- Kachelries finished with 13 points and handed out five assists, while junior Alex House had 12 points, hitting three 3's.
- Junior Tracy Simsick added 11 points and Pratt stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, five rebounds, five assist, and three steals.
For the Foes
- Alex Whitt scored a game-high 22 points and Quentin Davis finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.
- Jordan Shewbridge added 10 points off the pine.
Inside the Box Score
- DeSales out-rebounded LBC, 42-35, and shot 11-for-23 (47.8%) from outside the arc.
- DSU also did an excellent job at the foul line for the second straight game hitting 17-for-20 (85.0%).
- The Bulldogs defense held the Chargers to just 37.5 percent shooting in the second-half.
