Mike Bealer hit seven 3's and sophomore
Matt Kachelries was just two rebounds shy of a triple-double leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past Bryn Athyn College, 90-71, on the first day of the Al Senavitis Memorial Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
- The Lions came out hot, taking a 13-7 lead in the first four minutes before DeSales used a 20-5 run to take a 27-18 lead at the 11:43 mark of the first-half. Bealer hit three bombs during the spurt.
- A 10-2 run later in the extended the lead to its largest (15 points) over the first twenty minutes as the Bulldogs raced into the locker room leading 51-38. Bealer led the way with 15 points on five 3's.
- DSU led 66-44 before Bryn Athyn showed some fight using a 10-0 run to get within 112 points (66-54) but a Bealer three ended the spurt, sparking a 7-0 run that gave DSU a 19-point lead and the Bulldogs never looked back from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Bealer finished 7-for-10 from outside the arc hitting the second most 3s in a game.
- Junior Tracy Simsick added 15 points and Connaghan finished with 10 points.
- Kachelries came very close to recording just the second triple-double in team history with 11 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists in the win.
- Freshman Keba Mitchell also played very well with 10 points, eight rebounds, and five blocked shots.
For the Foes
- Lamarr Crenshaw had 12 points and Rahim Washington and Gabe Michnya each added 10 points in the loss.
Inside the Box Score
- The DeSales bench out-scored Bryn Athyn's, 41-23.
- DSU shot a very efficient 48.4 percent and was 15-for-35 from outside the arc, the second most made in a game as a team in program history.
- The Bulldogs out-rebounded the Lions, 45-38.
