Scranton, PA (February 21, 2018) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team fell behind 4-0 after one quarter and was never able to recover in a 13-7 loss at the University of Scranton on Wednesday afternoon.
Scranton (3-0) scored four straight goals to start the game and answered with three straight in the second quarter after DeSales (0-2) had cut the lead down to 4-2 with two goals to open the second quarter as the Royals led 7-3 at the break.
UofS all but put the game away to start the third quarter opening up a 10-3 lead with the first three goals of the quarter and the Bulldogs were unable to catch up.
Senior
Joe Neggia (Kinnelon, NJ) had four goals to lead DSU's scoring attack, while sophomore
Frank Krug (Perkasie, PA) added two goals and an assist senior
Bryan Weber (Wyomissing, PA) had one goal. Sophomore
Kevin Monaghan (Ridley Park, PA) (2), senior
Tommy Friedman (Monroe, NY), and sophomore
Matt Barry (Patchogue, NY) each had assists.
Krug also added six ground balls and three caused turnovers and Barry equaled his ground balls with six and made 12 saves in between the pipes.
The Bulldogs were out-shot 42-24 and won just 5-of-23 face-offs.
DSU will look to break its two-game skid on Tuesday when they return home to host Arcadia University beginning at 4:00 pm.
