Center Valley, PA (February 27, 2018) - Arcadia University out-scored the DeSales University men's lacrosse team, 5-1, in the second-half as the Bulldogs fell to the Knights, 9-5, in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
DSU (0-3) started strong taking a 1-0 lead on freshman
Matt Motto (Sewell, NJ) first career goal just 1:21 into the game and led 3-1 after Motto's second tally of the game at 11:23 of the second quarter. The Bulldogs clung to a 4-3 lead late in the first-half before AU tied the score at four with 1:20 to go in the half and that score stood into the break.
The Knights (2-1) dominated the third quarter out-scoring the Bulldogs, 3-0, and scored six straight goals between the end of the first-half and the start of the fourth quarter to take a 9-4 lead and never looked back from there.
Motto finished with two goals, while seniors
Joe Neggia (Kinnelon, NJ) and
Bryan Weber (Wyomissing, PA) each scored once. Sophomore
Kevin Monaghan (Ridley Park, PA) had one goal and one assist and junior
John Ramos (Moorestown, NJ) also had an assist in the loss.
Junior
Matt Barry (Patchogue, NY) played well in the cage making 12 saves and picking up five ground balls. Neggia had three caused turnovers and sophomore
Frank Krug (Perkasie, PA) added five ground balls and two caused turnovers, while also winning 5-of-11 face-offs.
The Bulldogs return to action next week when they take on Clark University on Monday during its spring break trip to Florida.
