Clearwater, FL (March 8, 2018) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team earned its first win of the 2018 season with a 12-3 win over Emmanuel College (MA) on Thursday afternoon.
After falling behind 1-0, the Bulldogs (1-3) scored the final four goals of the half to take a 4-1 lead. Emmanuel (0-3) struck first to start the second-half but the Bulldogs took control from there scoring eight straight goals taking a 12-2 lead and never looked back.
Senior
Joe Neggia (Kinnelon, NJ) and freshman
Zach Bowen (Middletown, DE) each scored a team-high three goals and added an assist in the win. Senior
Tommy Friedman (Monroe, NY) also had four points with two goals and two assists and freshman
Matt Motto (Sewell, NJ) added a goal and assist.
Other goal scorers included juniors
John Ramos (Moorestown, NJ) and
Jonathan Zito (West Islip, NY) along with senior
Bryan Weber (Wyomissing, PA). Seniors
Jake Zito (West Islip, NY) and
Josh Harman (Shirley, NY) each added assists in the win.
Sophomore
Frank Krug (Perkasie, PA) won 7-of-10 face-offs and picked up eight ground balls and junior
Matt Barry (Patchogue, NY) made 10 saves.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, March 17th when they host Gwynedd-Mercy University.
