Glenville, WV (February 24, 2018) - The DeSales University baseball team dropped a 5-1 decision in the first game of three scheduled this weekend with Oneonta at Glenville State College in West Virginia.

The Bulldogs (2-2) took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when senior Conner Lafferty (Langhorne, PA) singled home junior Aaron Fritz (Pottsville, PA).  Oneonta tied the score in the bottom half of the inning and took a 3-1 lead with two unearned runs in the fourth inning.  The Red Dragons tacked on solo runs in the fifth and sixth innings, while the Bulldogs were only able to muster three hits in the game.

DeSales did load the bases in the ninth inning with two outs but were unable to rally.

Senior Adam Donovan (Somers, CT) took the loss allowing two earns runs over four innings pitched.  Fritz had two of DSU's three hits on the afternoon.

The Bulldogs are back at it tomorrow taking on Oneonta in a doubleheader.
