Women's Lacrosse Sets Goals Mark in 23-13 Win over Gwynedd-Mercy

Center Valley, PA (March 14, 2018) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team set several records including most goals in a game pulling away late for a 23-13 win over Gwynedd-Mercy University on a chilly Wednesday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs had control early taking a 9-3 lead but the Griffins scored four of the last five goals in the first-half to trail by just three (10-7) at the break.
  • GMU carried that momentum into the second-half scoring four of the first six goals to pull within one goal at 12-11.
  • DSU dominated the fina 23 minutes of the game scoring five straight goals after GMU pulled to within one goal and out-scored Gwynedd 11-2 over the final 22:49.

  • GMU got six goals from Alyssa Tomsic.
  • Lauren Mitros dominated the draw controls winning 14.
  • Nicole wood made 14 saves in between the pipes.

  • The 23 goals scored and 26 points are both team records.  DSU's previous high for goals scored was 16 set last season vs. Cedar Crest College.
  • DeSales forced 27 Griffin turnovers and committed just 18 of its own.
