Center Valley, PA (March 18, 2018) - The DeSales University baseball team scored nine runs over the final three innings of game two explosing late to earn a split of a MAC Freedom doubleheader with FDU-Florham on a chilly Sunday afternoon.
Game One (L/3-4 vs. FDU-Florham)
The Bulldogs (6-8, 1-1 MAC Freedom) committed four errors leading to four unearned runs for the Devils in a heartbreaking 4-3 loss in the first game. FDU (5-7, 1-1 MAC Freedom) scored once in the first and second innings and twice in the fourth to take a 4-3 lead and held off a late DeSales rally.
DeSales got one run in the first on an RBI single from junior
Aaron Fritz and two more in the third on an RBI double from Fritz and a Devil throwing error.
DSU coughed up two two-out errors in the first and second innings leading to runs for the Devils and made two errors in the fourth leading to two more tallies ruining a terrific outing on the bump by senior
Andrew Schuler. Schuler tossed a complete-game allowing just two hits and striking out nine in the hard luck loss.
Fritz had two of DSU's five hits in game one.
Game Two (W/10-6 vs. FDU-Florham)
Trailing 2-1 early DeSales exploded for four runs in the fourth inning to take a 5-2 lead. Junior

Charlie Barebo each had RBI doubles in the fourth frame.
Errors haunted DSU again in the top of the fifth inning as Florham answered DeSales' four run inning with four runs of its own to reclaim a 6-5 lead as the Bulldogs kicked three ground balls, but the bats came thru in the fifth and sixth putting two runs on the board in the fifth on a two-run home run from junior
Nick White and three tallies in the sixth on a two-RBI double from freshman
Cody Mish to post the final margin.
Senior
Adam Donovan pitched well in a no-decision allowing just three runs over 4 1/3 innings before leaving the game after being hit with a batted ball. Freshman
Ian Kacergis earned the win in relief and senior
Konner Schneider pitched a perfect sixth and seventh inning to record his second save of the year.
Barebo, N. White, and senior
Randal Pacchioli each had two hits in game two. N. White scored three times.
The Bulldogs are slated to return to action on Wednesday traveling to Lebanon Valley College for a non-conference game.
