Center Valley, PA (March 24, 2018) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team allowed a season-low two goals to earn its second win of the season, 8-2, over Widener University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
	- The Bulldogs defense stifled the Pride all afternoon allowing just one goal over the first 56 minutes of the game and scored five straight tallies to open the second-half taking a 7-1 lead and never looked back.
 
	- DSU led 2-0 after one quarter and 2-1 at the half.
 
	- DeSales had a huge momentum shift scoring as the buzzer sounded in the third quarter as freshman Zach Bowen netted his fourth goal of the year off an assist from senior Josh Harman.
 
Top Bulldog Performers
	- Senior Joe Neggia had two goals and an assist and freshman Zach Bowen and Matt Motto each scored twice in the win.
 
	- N. Bowen and senior Tommy Friedman scored once and sophomore Kevin Monaghan and Harman each had one assist.
 
	- Sophomore Frank Krug was outstanding picking up six ground balls and forcing five turnovers.
 
	- Sophomore Jack Carney had three caused turnovers.
 
	- Sophomore Matt Barry made several spectacular saves and totaled 10 stops on the day.
 
For the Foes
	- Gavin Kirkwood and Brady Franks each scored for the Pride.
 
	- Mitchell Phillips had one assist.
 
	- Anthony Paone won 8-of-11 face-offs and had five ground balls.
 
	- Shane Cook caused five turnovers.
 
Inside the Box Score
	- Widener out-shot DeSales, 31-26, but only put 12 of its 31 shots on goal as compared to 19 of DSU's 26 attempts were on net.
 
	- WU had a 33-26 edge in ground balls and won 8-of-11 face-offs.
 
	- The Pride committed 24 turnovers and were just 14-for-21 in clears.
 
	- DeSales had nine man-up opportunities, scoring once.
 
Record Book
	- The win marks the first time DeSales has beaten Widener in team history.  The Bulldogs were 0-15 all-time vs. the Pride entering the game today.
