Winter Haven, FL (March 5, 2018) - The DeSales University baseball team fell behind early and never recovered falling to Mount Union, 16-6, in its second game of its spring trip to Winter Haven, FL.
Mount Union (5-1) scored five runs in the first inning and never really looked back. DeSales (4-4) put its first three runners on base in the bottom of the first inning but were unable to score a run and after scoring twice in the second inning on RBI hits from junior
Charlie Barebo (Emmaus, PA) and freshman
Sean Hanczaryk (Frenchtown, NJ) and once in the sixth on an RBI single from senior
Conner Lafferty (Langhorne, PA) to get within three runs (6-3), the Raiders scored four times in the seventh and six times in the ninth to break the game open.
Barebo finished 3-for-4 and junior
Preston Amato (Center Valley, PA) also had three hits in the loss.
The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow when they take on WPI.
