Ft. Lauderdale, FL (March 6, 2018) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team dropped its spring trip opener on Tuesday afternoon, 20-6, to Roanoke College.
Roanoke (3-1) jumped out to a 10-1 lead and led 12-3 at the half. RC then scored the first five goals of the second-half before the Bulldogs (0-3) were able to put three on the board late.
Freshman
Julia Astram (Milford, CT) led DeSales (0-3) with three goals and six draw controls. Freshman
Sami Stahl (Granby, CT) along with seniors
Kelly Meade (Philadelphia, PA) and
Danielle Burke (Philadelphia, PA) also scored goals. Burke, senior
Sydney Mursko (Milford, CT) and sophomore
Katie Kingsland (Warren, NJ) each had assists. Stahl added five draw controls and freshman
Katie Stordy (Westfield, IN) and
Rachel Sheubrooks (Halethorpe, MD) each had a team-high four ground balls. Sheubrooks made seven saves in goal.
The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday when they take on Shenandoah University beginning at 11:00 am.
