Ft. Lauderdale, FL (March 7, 2018) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team wrapped up its spring break trip with an 18-7 loss to Shenandoah University on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (0-4) hung tight early shaking off a 6-0 deficit early scoring three of the next five goals to pull within 8-3 near the end of the half before the Hornets scored the final two goals of the half and six of the first seven goals of the second half to take a 16-4 lead and never looked back from there.
Shenandoah narrowly out-shot DeSales, 28-24, while the Bulldogs enjoyed a 24-17 advantage in ground balls. DSU also did a great job clearing the ball, converting 17-of-20 clear attempts.

Danielle Burke (Philadelphia, PA) scored two goals to lead the scoring attack. Freshman

Amanda Foley (Cherry Hill, NJ) all had goals in the loss.
Sophomore
Alyssa Mantzouranis (Gambrills, MD) had an assist and Stahl won a team-high three draw controls. Sophomores
Mary O'Malley (Duxbury, MA) and
Katarina Polyviou (Cranford, NJ) each had a team-high two caused turnovers and freshman
Kyra Myers (Blue Bell, PA) made seven saves in goal.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday, March 14th when they host Gwynedd-Mercy University in a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
