Winter Haven, FL (March 7, 2018) - The DeSales University baseball team dropped its third straight game during its spring trip to Winter Haven, FL, falling to Mitchell College, 7-3, on Wednesday evening.
Tied at one after two and a half innings, Mitchell (5-1) took control scoring three times in the bottom of the third inning. The Bulldogs (4-6) scratched back with solo runs in the fifth and sixth to pull within 4-3 on an RBI triple from junior
Charlie Barebo (Emmaus, PA) and RBI single from sophomore
Michael White (Clinton, NJ).
Mitchell had the answer scoring once in the sixth and twice in the eighth to take a 7-3 lead and MC's reliever did the rest pitching 3 1/3 scoreless to preserve the victory.
Barebo continued his torrid start to the season with three more hits and two RBIs. Freshman
Cody Mish (Mohrsville, PA) also had two hits.
Sophomore
Ryan Passaro (Wayne, NJ) took the loss allowing four runs over two innings.
The Bulldogs will look to get back into the win column tomorrow when they face Widener University beginning at 2:30 pm.
