Scranton, PA (April 11, 2018) - The DeSales University baseball team dropped its second straight decision falling at the University of Scranton, 10-7, in a non-conference game on Wednesday evening.
Tied at one in the third inning, Scranton got two runs in the third and fourth to take a 5-1 lead. DSU got two back in the fifth as junior
Nick White (The Woodlands, TX) hit his second home run of the game, a two-run shot plating sophomore
Sergio Diaz (Waldwick, NJ), who had doubled.
UofS extended its lead to 7-3 in the sixth before the Bulldogs plated three in the seventh on a two-run homer from Diaz and sacrifice fly from junior
Charlie Barebo (Emmaus, PA).
The Royals got a run back in the seventh and after DSU scored an unearned run to pull within one once again (8-7), Scranton put the game away with two more tallies in the bottom of the eighth.
Junior
Felix Martinez Jr. (Allentown, PA) took the loss allowing three runs over three innings of work.
Diaz and White accounted for four hits, five runs, and five RBIs in the loss.
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday when they travel to Misericordia University for a MAC Freedom game beginning at 3:30 pm.
