St. David's, PA (April 6, 2018) - The DeSales University women's tennis team opened up MAC Freedom play with a 5-4 win over Eastern University on Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs took two of three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead.  Senior Kelly Nguyen teamed with sophomore Amber Achenbach to win 8-3 at the No. 1 position and sophomore Amanda Becker and freshman Alex Rodier earned an 8-1 win at the No. 3 doubles spot.

Nguyen was also a 6-1, 6-3 winner at the No. 1 single spot.  Sophomore Sarah Chan was also a winner at the No. 4 spot, 6-2, 6-2 and freshman Gabby Serratore earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 5 spot to round the win.

DeSales is back in action on Sunday when they host Delaware Valley University beginning at 1:00 pm.
