Center Valley, PA (August 31, 2018) – The DeSales University women's soccer team opened up the 2018 season with a 4-0 win over Alvernia University as four different Bulldogs found the back of the net.

How it Happened

• DeSales scored twice in each half in a game that saw the Bulldogs out-shoot Alvernia by just one, 13-12.
• DSU opened the scoring just 9:49 into the game and made it 2-0 in the 22^nd minute.
• The two goals in the second half came within 2:38 of each other and were both scored in the first 5:40 of the half.

Top Bulldog Performers

• DSU's four goals were scored by four different players including two freshman Meghan Corbran and Sam Riccardi as well as sophomore Rachel Medlar and junior Sydney Amato.
• Medlar and Riccardi also added assists on Corbran's goal and Medlar's goal.
• Senior Haley Jacobs made seven saves to record her first shutout of the season and the sixth of her career.

For the Foes

• Alvernia got three saves each from Lily Sankey and Riley Scepansky in the loss.

Inside the Box Score

• DSU had a 10-7 advantage in shots on goal and held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
