Center Valley, PA (September 2, 2018) - The DeSales University women's soccer team dropped its 2018 season home opener, 5-0, to Catholic University in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened

• CUA got on the board in the 30th minute when a from Elizabeth Johnson to the far post was deflected into the net by a Bulldog defender as that score stood into the half.
• The Cardinals broke the game open at 65:43 scoring two goals in 27 seconds to take a 3-0 lead and DeSales was unable to recover.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Freshman Natalie Dorsheimer and sophomore Rachel Medlar each had two shots on goal in the loss.
• Dorsheimer had the best scoring change breaking free of two defenders midway thru the first half but her shot 1-v-1 with the keeper was saved preserving the shutout at the time.

For the Foes

• Grace Boras scored two of CUA's five goals, while Johnson had two goals and two assists.
• Gabby Demaresti also scored and Bella Bertoncini and Krista Boretti added assists.

Inside the Box Score

• Catholic had a 16-10 advantage in shots (11-6 on goal) and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
• Both team's keepers made six saves.
