Women's Soccer Squanders Two Goal Lead; Settles for 2-2 Tie at Albright

Reading, PA (September 5, 2018) - The DeSales University women's soccer team took a 2-0 lead midway thru the second-half but was unable to hold it settling for a 2-2 draw at Albright College in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
  • After a scoreless first-half, DeSales scored at 59:59 when junior Sydney Amato knocked home a rebound following a saved shot from freshman Natalie Dorsheimer.
  • The Bulldogs made it a two goal game just 3:48 later when sophomore Rachel Medlar found sophomore Annie Brush for the game's second goal.
  • Albright got within one at the 73:30 mark and needed just 3:41 to tie the game at two.
  • Both teams got two shots off in the first overtime but no shots were taken in the second overtime as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

  • The assist for Dorsheimer and the goal for Brush were the first career points for both players.
  • Amato now leads the team with two goals on the season, while Medlar has a team-high two assists.
