Center Valley, PA (September 1, 2018) - The DeSales University volleyball team split two matches on day two of the DeSales University Invitational defeating Baruch College, 3-0, before falling to Washington College (MD), 3-0, in the second match of the day.

How it Happened
- DeSales dominated Baruch in the first match of the day, hitting .315, and cruising to its third victory to start the season.
- In the second match, the Bulldogs fell behind early (9-3) in the first set but took early leads in both the second and third sets but were unable to hold on late as WC took home the win.
- DSU hit just .090 in the loss and committed eight receiving errors.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Junior Morghan Shoemaker earned All-Tournament Team honors for the Bulldogs totaling 12 kills and six blocks on Saturday and finishing the weekend hitting .271 with 30 kills and a team-high 14 blocks.
- Sophomore Grace Merritt played well on Saturday totaling 5 kills on 11 attempts in the win over Baruch and hitting .227 with a team-high nine kills in the loss to Washington College.
- Freshman Audrey Wolfe finished with 36 assists in the win over Baruch and 30 in the loss to the Shorewomen.
- Senior Natalie Gray had 21 digs on Saturday, 10 vs. Baruch and 11 vs. Washington College.
- Freshman Sammie Martin had a team-high 11 digs in the win over Baruch.
- Sophomore Noel Kelly had seven kills and hit .700 vs. Baruch.
For the Foes
- Cassie Kowalski earned Tournament MVP honors from WC, totaling four kills and 14 digs vs. DeSales.
- Kaitlyn Baden added nine kills and Lizzie Baden finished with seven kills and four blocks for the Shorewomen.
Inside the Box Score
- In the win over Baruch, DeSales had 41 kills and just 12 errors and added seven team blocks.
- DSU also had 10 service aces and had a 52-39 advantage in digs with the Bearcats.
- In the loss to Washington College, DSU made 24 hitting errors as compared to 34 kills.
- DeSales had 50 digs, but committed eight receiving errors as compared to just two for WC.
