Volleyball Rallies past Moravian, 3-1; Bulldogs Record 15 Aces

Center Valley, PA (September 5, 2018) - After a shaky first set the DeSales University volleyball team rallied past local rival Moravian College, 3-1 (20-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-18), in non-conference action on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs had just five kills, while Moravian pounded down 18 in the first and turned a 16-14 deficit into a 25-20 win to take the first set.
  • Following the first set DeSales dominated with 14, 11, and 14 kills over the final three sets to win easily.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Senior Gabby Savite` led the way with 15 kills and eight digs.
  • Sophomore Grace Merritt added eight kills and hit .353 for the match.
  • Freshman Audrey Wolfe finished with four kills, 35 assists, three aces, 11 digs, and five blocks.
  • Junior Morghan Shoemaker totaled three aces and six blocks.
  • Senior Natalie Gray finished with a team-high 13 digs, while freshman Sammie Martin added 10 digs and two aces.
  • Junior Jess Smith also came off the bench with five aces.
For the Foes
  • Erin Tiger had 13 kills and Victoria Kauffman had 31 assists.
  • Brooke Kusmider finished with seven kills and a team-high 14 digs.
