Doylestown, PA (January 12, 2019) - The DeSales University men's basketball team out-scored Delaware Valley University, 47-37, and shot 54.5 percent in the second-half in a 86-74 win in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon at James Work Gymnasium.

How it Happened
- A back-and-forth start to the game saw the Aggies take control with several five-point leads over the middle part of the first-half before DeSales finshed the half on a 10-3 run finished off by a three-point play from sophomore Matt Kachelries with two seconds left.
- DeSales gained control of the contest immediately in the second-half starting the final 20 minutes scoring the first eight points, six of which came from junior Tracy Simsick, to take a 47-37 lead.
- The Aggies got within six points once (53-47) before five straight points, including two mid-range jumpers from junior Julian Wing pushed the lead back to double digits (58-47) at the 11:46 mark.
- Del. Val. pulled to within seven (67-60) at the 6:05 mark when DeSales put it out of reach with a 9-1 run highlighted by five points from junior Alex House giving the Bulldogs a 15-point lead (76-61) at the 2:54 mark.
- The Aggies did get within seven one more time before DSU iced the win hitting 6-for-6 from the charity stripe in the last minute.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Kachelries once again flirted with a triple-double totaling 14 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.
- Simsick led all scorers with a game-high 23 points and added three blocks.
- House totaled 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
- Freshman Keba Mitchell played well of the bench with 12 points and three blocks and senior Like Connaghan had nine points and 11 boards.
For the Foes
- Lybrant Robinson recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
- Damian Washington and Andre` Butler each had 14 points in the loss.
Inside the Box Score
- The Bulldogs shot 50.0% from the field and held the Aggies to just 31.6 percent shooting.
- DSU had a 42-24 advantage in points in the paint.
- DeSales shot well from the free throw line hitting 77.8 percent (14-for-18).
