Doylestown, PA (January 12, 2019) - The #22 DeSales University women's basketball team got double-doubles from seniors
Bridget Walsh and
Morgan Birmelin winning its eighth straight game, 88-63, over Delaware Valley University in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.
The Basics
- Final Score: DeSales - 88, Delaware Valley - 63

How it Happened
- The Bulldogs were red hot to start the game opening up a 21-3 lead over the first five minutes with Walsh totaling seven points and Birmelin scoring four points and dishing five assists.
- The lead grew to as many as 23 points in the first quarter as DSU led by 20 (33-13) at the end of the first quarter.
- DeSales slowly increased its advantage in the second quarter and took its largest lead (57-28) in the locker room shooting 55.3 percent over the first two quarters.
- The Bulldogs led by 30 before the Aggies made a push closing out the third quarter on a 10-2 run to get within 22 (68-46).
- Back and forth action started the fourth quarter and with DSU holding an 18-point lead (73-55), the Bulldogs used a 9-0 run to push the advantage back up to 27 points (82-55) and never looked back from there
Top Bulldog Performers
- Birmelin finished with 12 points, 12 assists, and seven steals to lead the way.
- Walsh' double-double consisted of 17 points and 14 rebounds.
- Freshman Samantha Shinkus finished with a team-high 19 points and also pulled down eight rebounds.
- Freshman Averi Jordan added 13 points.
For the Foes
- Domanique Moser had a game-high 22 points and added five assists.
- Ashley Smink finished with 15 points and five steals.
Inside the Box Score
- DSU dominated the paint out-scoring the Aggies, 46-18, and out-rebounding DVU, 50-34.
- DeSales had a 38-9 advantage in fast break points.
- The Bulldogs also scored 31 points off 25 Aggie turnovers.
